The Africa working group was established at the same time as Umverteilen!.

The group usually meets once a month to decide on project applications and to discuss crucial issues as well as the criteria for the allocation of funds.

In the early years of funding projects, the Africa working group considered support for the struggle against apartheid in South Africa a priority. Following the country′s political transformation, that regional priority was given up and replaced by funding according to purely substantive criteria.
