Donations

As a charitable institution, we are exempt from corporate taxes. Our most recent certificate of exemption (tax number 27/605/52790) from the Corporate Tax Office I in Berlin was awarded on August 27, 2008 for the years 2004, 2005 and 2006 according to §5, section 1, no. 9 of Germany′s corporate tax laws.

Support for Umverteilen! can be provided in the following ways:

• tax-deductible donations
  Donations for a specific working group or project will be immediately allocated to that group or project. Donations to the Foundation will become part of the following year′s budget for working groups and are used solely to fund project grants.


• endowments
  Funds so designated become part of the Foundation′s capital and help us to earn increased revenues, which in turn flow into the working groups′ budgets.


• loans to the foundation
  Funds can be temporarily transferred to the Foundation as interest-free loans, which also contributes to an increase in our revenues.
