Established in 2024, the Climate working group is the Foundation's youngest initiative, combining diverse expertise of activism, research, advocacy and policy work to address climate and climate justice issues. Our networks are rooted in climate justice movements around the world. We are united in the pursuit of effective climate action and the swift phase-out of fossil fuels worldwide. We believe that the main responsibility for combating the climate crisis and its consequences lies with the historical major emitters of greenhouse gases: large corporations and the industrialised nations. We assert that climate justice is a systemic issue, resolvable only beyond our growth-orientated economic model.
With our funding, we particularly want to support small and grassroots climate justice groups, campaigns and projects that tackle the ecological, social and economic injustices of climate change and its consequences. We prioritize initiatives that support, empower and strengthen the communities, groups and regions most affected by climate change.
